UPDATE: runDisney Wine and Dine Registration is going… going… GONE!

UPDATE: The runDisney Wine and Dine Half Marathon is officially SOLD OUT – now’s the time to hit up those Travel Providers, folks!

If your fall race plans include runDisney’s Wine and Dine Half Marathon and you haven’t yet registered… welp… get your credit card out now. There is a better than average chance that this race will sell out today.

That's 95 out of 100.
That’s 95% out of 100%.

I haven’t seen any Charity Groups on the website for this race, but there are several Travel Providers listed (I worked with the delightful Acclaim Travel to acquire my Glass Slipper Challenge bib after the race was officially sold out) who may have bibs even after the race officially sells out. Be aware, though, this option frequently requires that you book hotel and tickets through the same provider. If you need hotel and tickets, then great, but if you’re a person who prefers to book these things yourself (or if you have an annual pass, and generally stay off-site or in a Disney Vacation Club resort) then now’s your time to act!

Because we’re pursuing the Big Bang Series Challenge and will be in Cocoa Beach running the Space Coast Marathon on December 1st this year, I can’t currently justify traveling to Florida twice in three weeks (again) this year, so I’ll be sitting out this race, and it’s killing me.

KILLING. ME.

Love running these events. Love the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Love any excuse to come to Florida. Greg told me this morning that I should just stay in Florida for 3 weeks and visit with my dad. That could work.

NO!

Responsible adult. Responsible adult. Responsible adult.

Sigh.

Poop.

Will you be running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon this year?

  1. I’m so sorry that you’re sitting out! I registered yesterday after a friend at work reminded me, then kept pestering me to register. I’m so glad that I did. 95% in a day’s time. Whoo!

  2. Yeah, we thought about it a few times over the last few weeks. I can’t justify it for this year as we are saving for another WDW weekend. 2015 is a big year with both the Goofy and Disneyland half anniversaries. On my bucket list…of course, but Avengers is now on the list too! Yikes!

    • It’s pretty killer when you start adding it all up. I think I’m going to start looking at some races closer to home this fall instead.
Thinking Scotiabank Half or Niagara Falls Full…

      • Absolutely. We haven’t decided on our race schedule yet. I hate that both those two are within a week apart. I liked NF last year. Great course to tackle for another PR. There is also Road to Hope in Hamilton which is another flat/fast course.

  3. I won’t be running this race but I am aware that the Disney events sell out quick. I am going to do a half in a few weeks and then after that I’m thinking I’m going to keep it at 10K or less because I’m just not enjoying it.

Being a responsible adult is a pain sometimes. 🙂

    • I hear you. For some reason, I’m a dope who feels obligated to run a longer distance lately. I’m not satisfied with my marathon time, and I don’t want to walk away from it until I am..

I like the half marathon distance well enough, but a 10K or a 5k even seems like a more fun and therefore potentially rewarding distance.

Race day is always (?) fun, but the training. Oof, the training.
