And now a word from the Good Doctor

So, this is my life right now. Are you as confused as I am about PF? This cleared a few things up for me, and now I’ve got some tools to start fighting back. Time to break out the roller and the ice… (And walk around barefoot? I thougtht I WASN’T supposed to do that…

  1. Ouch! Although I’ve not had it, I’ve heard how painful it can be! Hopefully the icing and the foam roller helps (I love my FR-I even pack it for Disney!!). The other thing I do is get my spouse to rub my calves just before I go to bed! I don’t get PF but my calves get really tight after those LSD days or heavy training. The massage isn’t nice – in fact it hurts, but I find that just 10 minutes of massage can alleviate my pain the next day. Hope you feel better soon.

  2. The doc in the video mentions being barefoot in the prevention section – if we are suffering, my doc says NEVER EVER go barefoot. I’m doing all the other things he mentioned for treatment (except the plasma) so recovery better come fast. I hope it does for you too!

    • After thinking about it, I think he meant to go barefoot when your feet are not injured, as a strengthening thing? Or not. I found that odd, too.
And that plasma thing sounded freaky. Cortisone sounds hard-core enough without injecting BLOOD into your foot. Wild.
My PF foot sleeve and lots of rolling (plus no running for a week so far) seem to be helping…
